Regular groups and classes available at the Strouden Park Community Centre

We have lots of different groups and classes running at the centre that cater for all ages.

Amethyst Singers

The Amethyst Singers are a friendly, fun-loving choir in Poole, Dorset, meeting Thursdays 10 am-12 pm at Strouden Park Community Centre for £5, including refreshments, and led by Jane Legg (contact 07872 015548) for inclusive community singing, often performing for local care homes and charities. They’re a well-established, inclusive group bringing joy through song, supported by organizations like Care South.

Who they are:
Founded by Jane Legg, The Amethyst Singers aim to provide an inclusive space for all ages to enjoy singing, growing to around 55 members. They’re known for spreading joy and positively impacting the community, especially residents of care homes.

babyballet® Bournemouth and Poole

Award-Winning babyballet® classes offer boys and girls aged between 6 months – 6 years the opportunity to learn to dance within a fun, safe and caring environment! Great for boosting key skills such as confidence, coordination, posture, musicality, rhythm, balance and discipline. Contact Miss Claire on the details below.

Tai Chi Bournemouth

Come and learn these ancient practices in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Please get in touch with Paul for any further information or to book a place.

 

Beginners are always welcome and can come along and try one of our classes. We are always welcoming and have a relaxed and fun approach to our sessions. Our tai chi and qigong classes offer people of all ages a gentle way to exercise without stressing the joints. Whilst also improving breathing and increasing energy levels. So, if you’re thinking about taking it up or whether you’ve done it before and would like to start up again, we would love to hear from you.

The Pilates Shed

Group mat based Pilates classes with small equipment.Suitable for beginners & intermediate levels. Rebecca has been teaching Pilates Mat for over 10 years and is also certified to teach the Pilates Reformer where she teaches private 1:1 and small group classes in her home garden studio. Rebecca has worked with clients with various conditions:- osteoporosis, scoliosis, arthritis, hip replacement, knee surgery’s and rotator cuff injuries (shoulder). Your donation helps keep Strouden Park Community Centre thriving. Every gift, big or small, helps us run activities and events, and keep the Centre open and welcoming for everyone who uses it.
